New composition for CSM France
The French Conseil Supérieur de la Magistrature has a new composition. After a constitutional reform the Council now consists of a section with jurisdiction over judges and a section with jurisdiction over public prosecutors. The section with jurisdiction over judges is presided by the President of the Court of cassation.The section with jurisdiction over public prosecutors is presided over by the Chief Public Prosecutor at the Cour de Cassation.

Since 7 January 2011, the Romanian High Council for Magistracy has a new composition.
The Judge Nicolae Horatius DUMBRAVA and the Procureur George BALAN are respectively the new President and the new Vice-President of the Council.
New President takes office
As of the 1st of January 2011 Miguel Carmona Ruano has started his mandate as President of the ENCJ. He was elected by the General Assembly at the meeting in London. Miguel Carmona Ruano is a judicial member of the Consejo General del Poder Judicial of Spain and chair of its Committee on International Relations. He is the former President of the Provincial Court of Seville.
CoE Recommendation (2010) 12 on judges and CCJE Magna Carta of Judges
The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted recommendation CM/Rec (2010) 12 on judges: independence, efficiency and responsibilities.

ENCJ elects new organs
During the General Assembly meeting in London on 2-4 June 2010 the ENCJ elected its new organs.
Miguel Carmona Ruano, member of the Consejo General del Poder Judicial of Spain, was elected to be the new ENCJ President. His mandate will start on 1 January 2011 and will last for two years.
