On 13 September 2011 the European Commission adopted a Communication titled "Building trust in EU-wide justice - A new dimension to European judicial training" . In it the European Commision sets a goal of training 700.000 legal professionals in EU law by 2020.

The Consiliul Superior al Magistraturii of Romania took the initiative to publish a monthly newsletter in English. The first edition was published in May 2011 and introduces the newly elected members of the CSM.

The French Conseil Supérieur de la Magistrature has a new composition. After a constitutional reform the Council now consists of a section with jurisdiction over judges and a section with jurisdiction over public prosecutors. The section with jurisdiction over judges is presided by the President of the Court of cassation.The section with jurisdiction over public prosecutors is presided over by the Chief Public Prosecutor at the Cour de Cassation.

Since 7 January 2011, the Romanian High Council for Magistracy has a new composition.

The Judge Nicolae Horatius DUMBRAVA and the Procureur George BALAN are respectively the new President and the new Vice-President of the Council.
