Based on the amendment of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic effective since 1 September 2014, the President of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic is no longer ex-officio President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic. Therefore, the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic elected from among its members the Supreme Court judge, Ms Jana Bajánková, as the new President of the Judicial Council on its 18th meeting held on 16 September 2014. At the same time, in September 2014, new members were appointed to the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic. Mr. Ján Havlát was appointed by the Government of the Slovak Republic and Judge Ján Slovinský was elected by the National Council (Parliament) of the Slovak Republic.
Based on amendment of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic effective since 1 September 2014, the office of the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic was separated from the office
of the President of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic.
In this regard, the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic elected from among its members - the Supreme Court judge, Ms Jana Bajánková - as the new President of the Judicial Council on its 18th meeting held on 16 September 2014.
At the same time, in September 2014, new members were appointed to the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic. Mr. Ján Havlát was appointed by the Government of the Slovak Republic and Mr. Ján Slovinský was elected by the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
