The French Conseil Supérieur de la Magistrature has a new composition. After a constitutional reform the Council now consists of a section with jurisdiction over judges and a section with jurisdiction over public prosecutors. The section with jurisdiction over judges is presided by the President of the Court of cassation.The section with jurisdiction over public prosecutors is presided over by the Chief Public Prosecutor at the Cour de Cassation. The President of the Republic, the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate each appoint two qualified, prominent citizens.
