On 23 March 2011 the Fundamental Rights Agency of the EU published a report on Access to Justice in the European Union. The report provides an EU-wide comparative analysis of the effectiveness of access to justice, across the EU Member States. The national thematic studies the report is based on give an overview of the national court systems, restrictions regarding access to justice, the length of judicial proceedings and rules relating to the payment of legal costs.
